all our owies

we were praying tonight and Hannah started. "Dear Jesus, pray for God, who came to take care of all our owies." he came to take care of everything that we ever messed up. he made it all better. wow. its been awhile since i thought about it that way, through that perspective.

worthy

"As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received." That verse really got to me when I read it last night. It reminded me I need to keep my priorities, actions, and thoughts lined up with His will for my life.

Day 2 of Summer Break is going well. Slow, but relaxing. Youth tonight will be a good escape from the general boring-ness of my day. I got to watch the second half of The Return of the King,(started it last night, but seeing that it is more than 4 hours, I didn't finish it) and then read (yes, read) part of the Two Towers. I finished re-reading The Return of the King a few days ago. As you might have guessed, I am a LOTR fan. More tomorrow. :)

Summer is here!

Sorry its been so long. I've been kinda busy, then when I had time to blog, I didn't have anything to blog about. Lets see....
I read Ephesians one and two. The first chapter is about how God chose us before the creation of the world to follow him. I thought about that one for a minute, and it made me feel really special. God chose me.
The second chapter mainly covers how God, after he chose us, made a way for us to follow him- his son. So God didn't just say that he wanted me, he made a way for that to happen.

I finished school yesterday! I am free! I cant wait for youth tomorrow.

attitude

So last night i read the second chapter of Phillippians. There were three things I found to journal about, but I'll just do the first one.
"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus."
Jesus had the ultimate good attitude. He didn't complain when he had to leave heaven to come to earth, and he didn't complain when he had to die on the cross (something he definitely didnt deserve). I usually complain about alot of things. Bad hair days, nothing to wear, big test in school. But Jesus didn't complain even when he had to die on the cross! Thats definitely something to work on.

Today is my next to last day of school! I cant wait for monday!

devotion

Last night I read Phillippians 1. It is stuffed full of examples of devotion....

-Paul's devotion in writing and encouraging the Phillippians
-the Phillippians' devotion from the gospel "from the first day until now."
-God's devotion in completing the work he has started in the Phillippians

This chapter made me ask, "Am I completely devoted to God, the Gospel, and the other believers?" Its probably an area that could use some work in all of out lives.

happy summer!
